Lebanon

Lebanon is one of the famous Arab countries .In the bible it's called (The land of milk and honey). Beirut is the capital and its nickname is (The Paris of the east).The famous singer is half Lebanese is Shakira. Lebanon is surrounding many countries such as Syria, Egypt, Jordon, Turkey and Cyprus.


From 1943 to 1948, Christians held the balance of power and Lebanese Muslims had little say in the running of the country. In 1975, thinking boiled over. Members of a radical Christian group, the Phalange attacked and killed a bus full of Palestinians in downtown Beirut. Revenge killings followed and violence began to spiral out of control. The result of the tensions is a complete breakdown in trust between followers of the two religions. In 1982 Israeli army invaded the city with the aim of removing the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). The peace deal reached in 1989.Between 150,000 to 2000,000 people died during the civil war. Another 300,000 were wondered, nearly a quarter of the population left the country, and for years Beirut's economy was paralyzed. There is some current problems in the country that some people born in Beirut are not Lebanese and don’t have the Lebanese citizen rights.

Lebanon now trying to relapse the place level that lost it across the last years. There are signs of social and economic recovery in Beirut. For example the clock tower has been returned to its rightful place, the tourism is revived, building are restored and the people coming back to Beirut. In the future these signs will turn Lebanon to his previous place.
